Jemaa El-Fna square
The first thing to do when visiting Marrakech is to go to the Jemaa El-Fna square, in the heart of Marrakech, welcoming more than a million visitors every year.
In the morning, it’s always quite deserted, so it’s better to get there from 3pm onwards to find the square animated by shows with traditional Berber sounds and folklore, the multitude of juice stands that you’ll only find in Jemaa El-Fna.
But it is once night falls that the square becomes amazing, swarming with tourists from all over the world, Moroccan families visiting Marrakech or just Marrakchis wanting to unwind and enjoy the evening climate regarding the heat that reigns on the city throughout the day.
Since 2008, it has been listed as an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO.
Koutoubia and its gardens
Representative of the “Almohad” art, the Koutoubia, located right next to the Jemaa El-Fna square, was built in the XII century emblematic with its large minaret of a height exceeding 70 m.
A rather sober exterior architecture but each face of this minaret is decorated with a different pattern. And if you feel the need to catch your breath, go and rest in the gardens of the Lalla Hasna Park where the smell of orange trees and the trickling of water relaxes the nerves and marks the serenity
The Majorelle garden
This beautiful bluish-colored botanical garden in the new town belonged to the fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent and in which his ashes were scattered at his death in 2008.

Cafe of France
